Systems Engineer
Systems Engineer responsible for developing, improving, and supporting the Premier League Academy Auditing platform, ensuring high availability, performance, and security for over 1,000 club users across the UK.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of the PGAAC auditing platform, including design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Develop and automate infrastructure using Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes to improve reliability and scalability.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents, and implement proactive fixes to meet service level targets.
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, and club IT teams to gather requirements and deliver enhancements.
- Maintain security hardening, patch management, and compliance across Linux and Windows Server environments.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering or DevOps, with strong Linux/Windows Server administration.
- Proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Ansible) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid scripting/programming skills in Python and SQL for automation and data handling.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and incident response in production environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to work with technical and non‑technical teams.
