Systems Engineer
Systems Engineer responsible for modernizing, designing, testing, and sustaining Air Force electronic systems, applying model‑based engineering, requirements analysis, and DoD acquisition best practices.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead system‑level engineering reviews to assess design alternatives, technical baselines, and integration strategies for electronic systems.
- Develop and maintain requirements models, functional architectures, and interface specifications using Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
- Coordinate test and evaluation activities, including test planning, execution, and results analysis to verify system performance and compliance.
- Manage configuration control and baseline documentation throughout the system lifecycle, ensuring traceability to DoD standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—software, hardware, and program management—to drive modernization, fielding, and sustainment of the ESS portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering for defense or aerospace programs, including familiarity with DoD acquisition processes.
- Proficiency with MBSE tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo, or MagicDraw) and requirements management platforms.
- Hands‑on experience planning and executing test and evaluation for complex electronic systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a secure, multi‑disciplinary environment.
