About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering activities for FAA Air Traffic Control and Surveillance Services projects, including design, development, testing, installation, and integration of complex systems.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to transition legacy ATC capabilities to NextGen technologies, ensuring seamless integration and operational readiness.
- Develop and maintain system architecture, requirements traceability, and verification plans, supporting program management and execution.
- Conduct system validation, performance testing, and troubleshooting to meet stringent FAA safety and reliability standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in systems engineering within aerospace or defense environments.
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations, ATC operations, and NextGen concepts.
- Proficiency in systems integration, testing methodologies, and program management tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
