Systems Engineer
Lead design, implementation, and maintenance of secure network infrastructure for a renewable energy leader, leveraging Linux, Cisco, and advanced firewall technologies to protect critical systems and data.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage secure network architectures for data centers and field sites, ensuring high availability and compliance with industry standards.
- Configure and maintain Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN solutions to support enterprise connectivity and remote operations.
- Implement security controls, including IDS/IPS, segmentation, and access policies, and conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
- Automate network provisioning and monitoring using scripting (Python, Bash) and configuration management tools.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate network services with cloud platforms and IoT devices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in network and security engineering within industrial or energy sectors.
- Proficiency with Linux administration, Cisco IOS, and firewall technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet).
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash) and familiarity with automation frameworks (Ansible, Terraform).
- Knowledge of VPN technologies, SSL/TLS, and secure remote access solutions.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to security best practices.
