Systems Engineer
Systems Engineer responsible for managing mechanical and HVAC operations, building automation, and preventive maintenance in a university science complex, ensuring optimal facility performance and safety compliance.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations and preventive maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, and building automation systems across the Science Complex.
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance crews, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules, work plans, and budget forecasts for all mechanical assets.
- Conduct performance monitoring, troubleshoot system issues, and implement corrective actions to maximize reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental health and safety standards, and university policies.
- Prepare detailed reports, maintenance logs, and performance metrics for senior leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in building systems engineering or facilities operations.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical systems, and building automation platforms.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
