Systems Engineer
Experienced Systems Engineer III providing acquisition support for Foreign Military Sales on the Theater Mission Planning Center program, leveraging systems engineering, software development, and DoD acquisition processes.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering activities for the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) program, ensuring compliance with DoD acquisition and FMS requirements.
- Develop, integrate, and validate software components in coordination with development teams, applying best practices in software engineering.
- Manage requirements traceability, configuration control, and verification/validation processes using model‑based systems engineering tools.
- Coordinate with NAVAIR stakeholders, contractors, and government customers to resolve technical issues and support system integration.
- Provide technical documentation, risk assessments, and status reports to senior leadership and acquisition officials.
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance and eligibility for access to classified information.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering and software development within a DoD acquisition environment.
- Proficiency with model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies and configuration management tools.
- Strong understanding of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) processes and defense acquisition regulations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work on‑site at the NAVAIR base and travel up to 15%.
