Senior Systems Engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining advanced border and coastal surveillance systems using Python, C++, AWS, and machine learning to enhance real‑time threat detection and response.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement scalable surveillance solutions on AWS, integrating sensor data streams and machine‑learning models for anomaly detection.
- Develop and maintain high‑performance C++ and Python codebases for real‑time video analytics and signal processing.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define system requirements, conduct performance testing, and ensure compliance with security standards.
- Design and execute automated deployment pipelines (CI/CD) and monitor system health using observability tools.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on best practices in embedded systems and cloud architecture.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering for defense or security applications.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, SageMaker).
- Strong background in machine‑learning model deployment and real‑time analytics.
- Experience with network security protocols and secure software development lifecycle.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.
