About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide systems engineering support for in‑service Virginia, Ohio, and Seawolf class submarines.
- Analyze, develop, and implement ship alteration (SHIPA) requirements and solutions.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure integration of mechanical, electrical, and combat systems.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, configuration baselines, and engineering data packages.
- Participate in testing, verification, and validation activities to confirm compliance with Navy standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or related field.
- Fundamental knowledge of submarine systems and ship alteration processes.
- Proficiency with technical documentation tools (e.g., IBM DOORS, CAD) and data analysis using MATLAB.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Eligibility for U.S. security clearance.
