Remote Systems Engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, high‑availability infrastructure for aerospace and defense applications, leveraging virtualization, cloud, and network technologies while ensuring compliance with DoD security requirements.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable virtualized and cloud‑based infrastructure for mission‑critical aerospace systems.
- Configure and maintain network components, firewalls, and VPNs to meet stringent DoD security standards.
- Automate deployment and configuration tasks using scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) and configuration management tools.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform root‑cause analysis to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate new services and support continuous delivery pipelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, virtualization, and cloud environments.
- Proficiency with VMware, Hyper‑V, or KVM and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, security best practices, and DoD clearance processes.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
