Summary
Individual supports the U.S Air Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract at Edwards Air Force Base, better known as J-Tech II. Integrits Corporation develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation’s war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today’s missions and tomorrow’s global challenges. A Systems Administrator V evaluates system specifications, configures virtual and physical computer systems, establishes standards, ensures hardware/software compatibility and maintains development workstations and cloud server systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform the daily operational support on the virtual machine operating system for development workstations and application servers, to include system security, access control, configuration, and automated backup.
- Specify virtual machine compute, store, and network requirements, monitor network and virtual machine performance, troubleshoot virtual networking hardware and ensure systems are functional and performant.
- Provide operational status metrics to Integrits/JT4 and government leadership, as required.
- Analyze system logs and identify and remediate potential issues with development computer systems and virtual application servers.
- Utilize automated tools for system configuration management and vulnerability analysis and remediate vulnerabilities and non-compliant configurations in accordance with the System Security Plan.
- Generate documentation of configuration, policy, and procedures used in the Risk Management Framework System Authorization process, when required by the Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
- Interact daily with the development team, ensuring their system administration needs are met and informing the supervisor of any blockers or critical status updates.
- Track hardware assets used by the development team, including network machines and development machines, reporting status to government Equipment Custodian, as required.
- Use established policies and procedures and subject matter knowledge to complete complex assignments requiring originality and ingenuity performed under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for independent contribution.
- Attend meetings, deliver reports, and act as the supervisor’s delegate, as required.
- Exercises discretion and independent judgement in representing and/or resolving matters of significance on behalf of the customer.
- Individual reports to an exempt onsite manager responsible for the IT Support Team operations.
- There is occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal as well constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness.
