Systems Engineer
Lead the maintenance and optimization of enterprise IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability of Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, VMware environments, and secure backup solutions for a non‑profit healthcare organization.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux environments, ensuring 99.9% uptime for critical healthcare applications.
- Manage Active Directory, group policies, and user access controls across the organization.
- Maintain VMware virtual infrastructure, including VM provisioning, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Implement and monitor backup & recovery solutions, performing regular restores and disaster‑recovery drills.
- Configure and secure network devices, firewalls, and VPNs to protect patient data and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to deploy new software, hardware, and security patches.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of systems administration experience in a healthcare or similar regulated environment.
- Proven expertise with Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, VMware, and backup technologies.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, security best practices, and HIPAA compliance.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently, and strong communication abilities.
