At NS2 Mission, reliable infrastructure is the foundation of mission success. We're seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team in Chantilly, VA , where you'll be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise server environments that support Intelligence Community customers.
In this role, you'll collaborate with engineers, technical leads, and mission partners to deploy new systems, maintain secure and reliable server infrastructure, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and support the continuous operation of mission-critical environments. Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise server environments to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and availability.
- Develop and maintain server build documentation, configuration baselines, asset records, and technical procedures to support lifecycle management.
- Perform server deployments, upgrades, operating system updates, security patching, and baseline configuration changes in accordance with established standards.
- Monitor server health, system capacity, and performance metrics, providing tuning recommendations and implementing improvements to optimize system performance.
- Respond to service requests, incidents, and outage events by troubleshooting hardware, software, and operating system issues and restoring services in a timely manner.
- Support backup, recovery, and data restoration activities while maintaining secure access controls and protecting enterprise systems.
- Coordinate server installations, transitions, and infrastructure changes while collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and service providers.
- Maintain server rooms and support infrastructure, ensuring systems remain operational, secure, and compliant with organizational standards.
- Evaluate existing server infrastructure and recommend hardware refreshes, system enhancements, and technology improvements to support future mission needs.
- Participate in operational support activities, including after-hours or on-call support, special projects, and technical planning efforts as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Experience administering Windows and/or Linux server environments in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with server installation, configuration, patch management, operating system upgrades, and lifecycle administration.
- Knowledge of server monitoring, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and capacity planning.
