Security Engineer
System Security Engineer supporting Naval Aviation acquisition programs, providing cyber resiliency, vulnerability research, penetration testing, reverse engineering, and Red Team support for a major ACAT developmental effort.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on software and hardware components of Naval Aviation systems.
- Conduct reverse‑engineering analysis to identify security flaws and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support NAVAIR Red Team activities, including threat emulation and adversary tactics development.
- Provide System Security Engineering (SSE) deliverables such as security architecture reviews, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with acquisition program teams to integrate security requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability research, and penetration testing, preferably in a DoD or aerospace environment.
- Proficiency with reverse‑engineering tools (e.g., IDA, Ghidra) and Red Team methodologies.
- Strong understanding of system security engineering principles and defense acquisition processes.
