Design and implement safety processes for advanced tracked and wheeled vehicle systems, applying functional safety standards, risk analysis, and failure‑mode techniques to ensure reliable, compliant products.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain system safety plans, hazard analyses, and safety requirements for vehicle platforms and subsystems.
- Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and risk assessments in accordance with ISO 26262 and MIL-STD-882.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to integrate safety controls and verify compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide safety certification support, generate safety case documentation, and liaise with regulatory bodies.
- Drive continuous improvement of safety processes, tools, and best practices across engineering projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience applying functional safety standards (ISO 26262, MIL-STD-882) to complex vehicle systems.
- Proficiency in hazard analysis techniques such as FMEA, FTA, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Strong communication skills to convey safety concepts across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with safety management tools and documentation in a defense or automotive environment.
