System Safety Engineer - Expleo Group
Software Engineer
Design and certify safety for next‑generation electric rotorcraft, focusing on powertrain, battery systems, and high‑voltage architectures while conducting hazard analyses and ensuring compliance with eVTOL certification standards.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute system safety and functional safety processes for eVTOL powertrain, battery, and high‑voltage electrical subsystems.
- Perform hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety analysis (FMEA, FTA, FHA) to define safety requirements and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with design, electrical, and certification teams to integrate safety controls and ensure compliance with FAA/EASA eVTOL regulations.
- Prepare and review safety documentation, certification plans, and test reports for powertrain and battery systems.
- Support prototype testing, validation, and verification activities, including high‑voltage safety testing and fault injection.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of system safety experience.
- Strong knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ARP4754, DO‑178C) and eVTOL certification requirements.
- Hands‑on experience with powertrain, battery management, and high‑voltage electrical architecture design.
- Proficiency in safety analysis tools and methods (FMEA, FTA, FHA) and ability to produce clear safety documentation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work across multidisciplinary engineering groups.
