Experienced System Engineering Specialist needed to enforce DoD regulations, identify cyber risks, and strengthen the cybersecurity posture of a defense environment, requiring an active Top Secret clearance.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain system architecture documentation that aligns with DoD standards and policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and remediate security gaps in mission‑critical systems.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement security controls, hardening procedures, and continuous monitoring solutions.
- Provide technical guidance on compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks such as RMF, NIST SP 800‑53, and DIACAP.
- Prepare and present security status reports, audit findings, and mitigation plans to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for SCI.
- 5+ years of experience in system engineering within a DoD or defense‑contracting environment.
- Proven expertise in cybersecurity risk assessment, vulnerability management, and implementation of DoD security controls.
- Strong knowledge of DoD regulations, RMF, NIST SP 800‑53, and related compliance frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable recommendations.
