Systems Engineer
Experienced System Engineer specializing in locomotive platforms, responsible for cab and sand‑plough design, subsystem integration, and rigorous verification using FEA and PPAP processes.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of locomotive platforms, focusing on cab architecture for desert environments and compliance with RAMS and safety regulations.
- Develop and optimize sand‑plough and related components to withstand harsh desert and iron‑ore conditions.
- Integrate critical subsystems such as trucks, traction motors, fuel systems, and cab modules, ensuring seamless functional interaction.
- Perform detailed design verification, including hand calculations, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and PPAP documentation.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive concept validation, prototype testing, and production readiness.
Requirements
- 15–20 years of experience in subsystem/component design for locomotives, heavy‑industry vehicles, or automotive platforms.
- Deep knowledge of locomotive systems and subsystems, with proven expertise in cab and sand‑plough design for extreme environments.
- Strong background in design verification methods, FEA, hand calculations, and PPAP processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex integration projects involving traction, fuel, and truck systems.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
