Systems Engineer
System Engineer who will work with UK clients to gather requirements, craft technical proposals, and design, deploy, and maintain Windows/Linux infrastructure, virtualization, networking, and cloud solutions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with prospective and existing clients to capture business and technical requirements for IT solutions.
- Prepare and present technical proposals, solution designs, and recommendation documents.
- Design, configure, and implement Windows Server, Linux, and virtualised environments (VMware/Hyper‑V).
- Deploy, monitor, and optimise networking and cloud services (AWS or Azure) to meet client SLAs.
- Provide tier‑2/3 support, troubleshooting, and incident resolution for deployed systems.
- Document architectures, procedures, and knowledge‑base articles for internal and client use.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, supporting Windows and Linux platforms.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V) and networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN).
- Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation and configuration management.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts into business‑focused recommendations.
