Systems Engineer II responsible for translating operational concepts and high‑level architectures into detailed system requirement specifications, supporting federal government programs while ensuring compliance with security and engineering standards.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze concept of operations documents and high‑level system architectures to produce clear, traceable system requirement specifications.
- Develop and maintain requirement baselines using Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including software, hardware, and test engineers—to ensure requirements are feasible, verifiable, and aligned with mission objectives.
- Perform configuration management and change control activities to keep requirement sets current and compliant with federal standards.
- Support security and compliance reviews, providing documentation and evidence required for DoD security clearance processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; 3+ years of systems engineering experience.
- Proficiency with MBSE tools (e.g., SysML, MagicDraw, Cameo) and requirement management platforms (e.g., DOORS, Jama).
- Demonstrated ability to translate high‑level operational concepts into detailed, testable requirements.
- Active DoD security clearance (or ability to obtain one) and familiarity with federal acquisition and compliance standards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, with experience in multidisciplinary project environments.
