Systems Engineer
Lead the design, deployment, and support of secure cloud and on‑prem network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and compliance across a global fleet of vessels and shore offices.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud environments (AWS, Azure) supporting shipboard and shore operations.
- Configure and manage Linux/Windows servers, ensuring optimal performance, patching, and backup strategies.
- Administer network security devices (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS) to protect data and communications across multiple sites.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash) for routine tasks and configuration drift remediation.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
- Document infrastructure, processes, and best practices to support knowledge sharing and compliance audits.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in system administration with a focus on cloud and network security.
- Proven expertise in Linux and Windows Server environments, including Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS/Azure services, networking, and security appliances.
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Bash, with a track record of automating complex workflows.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities, communication skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
