Systems Engineer
System Administrator responsible for supporting the Study Automation Team, managing Windows and Linux servers, automating workflows with PowerShell and Python, and maintaining virtualized environments using VMware and Ansible.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux environments supporting the Study Automation Group.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Python to streamline business processes.
- Configure, deploy, and manage virtual machines and containers with VMware and related virtualization tools.
- Implement configuration management and orchestration using Ansible to ensure consistent system states.
- Collaborate with developers in an Agile setting to integrate automation solutions into the transmission operations workflow.
- Maintain system documentation, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with security and project standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in systems administration for both Windows and Linux platforms.
- Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell and Python for automation tasks.
- Hands‑on experience with VMware virtualization technologies.
- Knowledge of configuration management tools, preferably Ansible.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and ability to work within cross‑functional teams.
