Job Description

Primary Function of Position: The Ion™ endoluminal system is Intuitive's robotic platform for minimally invasive biopsy in the peripheral lung, with an initial goal of improving the early diagnosis of lung cancer. The main responsibility of the position is to play a key role in the software verification of the features for Ion products.

The Software Test Engineer will support the verification and validation of software for a robotic surgical system. Working closely with the software developers, system engineers, and other cross-functional teams, this individual will design, develop, execute and document software verification activities to ensure product quality and compliance with requirements. This role requires strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, execute and document test protocols for the functional verification of complex robotic surgical systems.
• Review and provide feedback on requirement/specification clarity to support test method development.
• Perform traceability analysis to ensure 100% test coverage
• Perform hands-on testing and test execution using automated test tools and test management applications.
• Develop, maintain, and execute manual and automated test cases to verify software functionality and system performance.
• Document test results, defects, and verification activities in accordance with established processes and procedures.
• Develop test scripts and automation solutions, as appropriate, to improve test efficiency and coverage.
