Supervisory IT Specialist SysAdmin/Customer Support - Commander, Navy Installations Command

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of system administrators and support staff, setting priorities and ensuring timely resolution of incidents.
• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Server and Linux systems, including patch management and performance tuning.
• Manage network infrastructure components, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement security best practices.
• Develop and maintain scripts (PowerShell, Bash) to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Provide tier‑2/3 technical support to end users, documenting solutions and contributing to a knowledge base.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in system administration with a strong background in Windows and Linux environments.
• Proven leadership skills and experience managing a technical team.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation abilities.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator) are a plus.
