Systems Engineer
Lead a team of system administrators to design, deploy, and maintain enterprise Windows and Linux environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across the agency’s infrastructure.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of system administrators, setting priorities and ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Design, implement, and manage Windows Server and Linux environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
- Plan and execute hardware and software upgrades, migrations, and patch management to maintain system integrity and security.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash) to streamline routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to resolve incidents.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices to support knowledge transfer and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration with a focus on Windows Server and Linux.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator) preferred.
