Software Engineer
Lead a team of IT professionals to design, implement, and maintain secure, cloud‑based solutions while overseeing service delivery, project execution, and vendor relationships within a federal agency environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and mentor a multidisciplinary IT team in the planning, deployment, and support of enterprise‑wide systems and cloud services.
- Manage the full project lifecycle for major IT initiatives, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and risk are controlled.
- Oversee IT service management processes (incident, problem, change) to meet performance and compliance targets.
- Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies, conduct risk assessments, and coordinate incident response activities.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors, negotiate contracts, and monitor service level agreements.
- Provide strategic guidance on IT governance, architecture standards, and technology roadmaps.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Proven expertise in IT service management frameworks (ITIL), project management methodologies (PMI, Agile), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong knowledge of federal cybersecurity standards (NIST, FISMA) and experience implementing security controls.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and vendor negotiation skills.
