Security Engineer
Lead and manage network and information security initiatives, ensuring robust protection of critical systems and data through strategic planning, policy enforcement, and incident response.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure network infrastructures across multiple sites.
- Develop and enforce information security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with federal regulations.
- Lead incident response efforts, conduct root‑cause analysis, and coordinate remediation activities.
- Manage a team of security analysts, providing mentorship, performance reviews, and professional development.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to assess risks, conduct security assessments, and recommend mitigations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced certifications (CISSP, CCNA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in network and information security roles.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and secure architecture principles.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and communicate complex security concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Experience with federal security frameworks (NIST, DoD, FISMA) and compliance requirements.
