Lead a cyber team to protect mission‑critical systems, overseeing risk assessments, security architecture, and incident response while ensuring compliance with DoD and NIST security standards.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and mentor a team of cybersecurity professionals in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of information security controls.
- Lead risk assessments and manage the Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle for all assigned systems.
- Develop, review, and enforce security architecture and configuration baselines aligned with NIST and DoD policies.
- Coordinate and lead incident response activities, including detection, analysis, containment, and post‑incident reporting.
- Serve as the primary liaison with senior leadership and external stakeholders to communicate security posture, compliance status, and remediation plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or related field and 8+ years of progressive IT security experience.
- DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain) and proven experience with NIST SP 800‑53, RMF, and DoD cybersecurity directives.
- Demonstrated expertise in security architecture, vulnerability management, and incident response processes.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of managing technical teams and delivering security solutions on schedule.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH preferred.
