Software Engineer
Lead the design, development, and delivery of training programs for Coast Guard personnel, managing instructional projects, LMS administration, and curriculum creation to enhance operational readiness.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full instructional design lifecycle for Coast Guard training initiatives, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and regulatory standards.
- Lead a team of instructional designers and subject matter experts to develop engaging, standards‑compliant learning materials across multiple modalities.
- Administer and optimize the Learning Management System, including course cataloging, user access, and performance analytics.
- Collaborate with operational units to assess training needs, design curricula, and implement assessment strategies that measure learning outcomes.
- Provide coaching and professional development to instructional staff, fostering best practices in adult learning and instructional technology.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in instructional design and training program management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency with LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, or proprietary systems) and authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder communication.
- Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory, assessment design, and instructional best practices.
