Software Engineer
Lead a field engineering team to design, estimate, and report on maintenance, reconstruction, and construction projects for a water district, while managing project execution and representing the district at regulatory meetings.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team in preparing engineering designs, specifications, estimates, and technical reports for maintenance, reconstruction, and new construction projects.
- Serve as Project Engineer on construction sites, ensuring compliance with design intent, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Represent the district at local, state, and federal meetings, conferences, and hearings, communicating project status and technical requirements.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocations, monitoring performance against objectives.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to resolve technical issues and maintain project momentum.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; professional engineering license preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in field engineering and project management within water or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design standards, construction practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent) and project management tools.
