Systems Engineer
Design and analyze spacecraft structural systems, applying finite element methods, CAD modeling, and materials expertise to ensure performance and reliability for defense, civil, and commercial space missions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute finite element models to evaluate structural integrity of satellite, launch vehicle, and ground system components.
- Create and maintain detailed 3‑D CAD models, incorporating design changes and supporting multidisciplinary teams.
- Perform material selection and testing analyses, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and mission requirements.
- Collaborate with propulsion, thermal, and avionics engineers to integrate structural solutions into overall system designs.
- Generate technical reports, design reviews, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with a focus on structures.
- Proficiency in finite element analysis tools (e.g., NASTRAN, ANSYS) and CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, SolidWorks).
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with MATLAB for data analysis and scripting.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and relevant industry standards.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.
