Lead structural engineering consultant for nuclear facilities, guiding multidisciplinary teams, performing advanced analysis and steel design, and delivering upgrades and new plant projects.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of structural engineers on design and analysis for new nuclear facilities and plant upgrades.
- Perform detailed structural analysis, including finite‑element modeling, to verify safety and performance of steel and concrete systems.
- Develop and review structural steel design calculations, drawings, and specifications in compliance with nuclear codes and standards.
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and electrical engineers to integrate structural solutions into overall plant designs.
- Interface directly with clients and regulatory bodies, presenting technical findings and ensuring project requirements are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering with 5+ years of experience in nuclear or heavy‑industrial projects.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ANSYS, Abaqus) and steel design codes (ASME, AISC).
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex engineering deliverables.
- Strong knowledge of nuclear plant codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and technical presentations.
