About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of long‑term water and stormwater asset strategies, ensuring alignment with council objectives and community needs.
- Conduct comprehensive asset assessments, leveraging GIS and hydraulic modeling to identify performance gaps and prioritize investment opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineering, environmental, and regulatory teams to integrate best practices and emerging technologies into asset management plans.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations and cost‑benefit analyses for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure all planning activities comply with local, state and federal water management standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Water Resources or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in water or stormwater asset management and strategic planning.
- Proficiency in GIS, hydraulic modeling software (e.g., InfoWorks, HEC‑RAS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Knowledge of Australian water regulations and sustainability frameworks is an advantage.
