Staff Software Engineer Virtualization / VMware - Apollo Technology Solutions LLC

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and automate infrastructure‑as‑a‑service components for a private VMware cloud environment.
• Analyze existing VMware deployments, identify improvement opportunities, and implement automation to increase reliability and efficiency.
• Build and maintain software systems that manage and orchestrate virtualized resources across legacy and modern platforms.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define architecture, perform systems design reviews, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams while troubleshooting complex virtualization issues.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in infrastructure software engineering with deep expertise in VMware and virtualization technologies.
• Proven track record designing and implementing automation for private cloud or infrastructure‑as‑code solutions.
• Strong understanding of legacy system integration and ability to modernize existing environments.
• Excellent systems design skills, including capacity planning, performance tuning, and security hardening.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities to influence technical direction across multiple teams.
