About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Staff Software Engineer to join our Backend team. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a key technical leader, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and robust backend systems. You will play a crucial role in shaping our technical direction, mentoring junior engineers, and driving best practices within the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and solutions.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including code quality, testing, and deployment.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, ensuring high availability and performance of our systems.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of our platform.
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies and tools to improve our development processes and system capabilities.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Python, Java, Go, Node.js, Ruby, or PHP.
• Extensive experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Proven experience designing and building scalable microservices architectures.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
