Staff Software Engineer, AI for Developer Productivity - General Motors (GM)

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement AI‑driven features that accelerate code generation, testing, and debugging for embedded software teams.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering groups to integrate AI models into existing toolchains and CI/CD pipelines.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of scalable, production‑grade AI services, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Drive technical strategy, evaluate emerging AI technologies, and influence architectural decisions across the organization.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on embedded systems and toolchain development.
• Deep expertise in machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and experience deploying models in production environments.
• Proficiency in Python and C++ with a track record of building high‑performance, scalable software.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD, containerization, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to thrive in ambiguous situations, and strong communication abilities.
