Lead complex, high‑performance printed circuit board development for defense systems, driving architecture, signal‑integrity, and manufacturability while leveraging Altium, Cadence, and Python automation under a security‑cleared environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver high‑speed, multi‑layer PCB designs for mission‑critical defense platforms, ensuring compliance with stringent security and reliability standards.
- Perform signal integrity, power integrity, and electromagnetic compatibility analyses, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain design libraries, component footprints, and design rules in Altium Designer and Cadence Allegro.
- Automate repetitive design tasks and data extraction using Python scripts to improve productivity and traceability.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional hardware, firmware, and systems teams to integrate PCB solutions into larger system architectures.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct design reviews, and enforce best practices for documentation and version control.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional PCB design experience, with a focus on high‑speed, high‑density layouts.
- Proficiency in Altium Designer and Cadence Allegro, including library management and design rule creation.
- Strong background in signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.
- Advanced Python scripting skills for design automation and data processing.
- Active Secret or Top‑Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain).
