Staff Machine Learning Engineer Research Scientist - Plaid

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship state‑of‑the‑art machine learning models that improve financial data connectivity and user experiences.
• Lead end‑to‑end research projects, from hypothesis formulation and data exploration to model validation and production deployment.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to translate business problems into scalable ML solutions.
• Build and maintain robust, cloud‑native ML pipelines and infrastructure on AWS, ensuring reliability, performance, and security.
• Mentor senior engineers and researchers, fostering best practices in code quality, experiment tracking, and reproducibility.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience developing production‑grade ML systems, preferably in the fintech or payments domain.
• Deep expertise in Python and major ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Strong background in statistical modeling, deep learning architectures, and large‑scale data processing.
• Proficiency with cloud services (AWS) and container orchestration for deploying scalable ML workloads.
• Track record of publishing research, presenting findings, and driving innovations from prototype to production.
