About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and develop battery pack designs for V‑BAT and X‑BAT aircraft, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and weight targets.
- Lead thermal management strategy, including heat sink design, airflow analysis, and thermal simulation to maintain optimal cell temperatures.
- Collaborate with power electronics, firmware, and systems teams to integrate Battery Management Systems (BMS) and power conversion units.
- Utilize CAD (SolidWorks) and simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink) to model, validate, and iterate pack layouts and electrical performance.
- Drive testing, qualification, and certification activities, preparing documentation for regulatory compliance and field deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience designing battery packs for aerospace or high‑performance electric vehicles.
- Proficiency in power electronics, BMS integration, and thermal analysis.
- Strong CAD and simulation skills, with a track record of delivering design solutions under tight constraints.
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
