Senior backend engineer leading the design and evolution of high‑scale, real‑time cinema data pipelines and APIs, leveraging Python, Node.js, and cloud-native AWS services to power discovery and ticketing experiences worldwide.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement scalable, fault‑tolerant backend services that ingest, process, and expose large volumes of real‑time cinema data.
- Design and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs consumed by search, media, and ticketing platforms.
- Lead performance tuning, data modeling, and stream processing using Kafka and other event‑driven technologies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data contracts, SLAs, and monitoring strategies.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and champion best practices in CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes deployments.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend development experience with a strong focus on API design and data pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python and Node.js, with hands‑on experience building high‑throughput services.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services (Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Kinesis) and container orchestration.
- Experience with Kafka, message queues, and real‑time data processing.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of leading technical initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
