About the Role
For our client, a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space, we are seeking a Staff Data Scientist. This role involves leading work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will collaborate with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to develop reporting, identify trends, and translate analysis into actionable strategies. This position offers the opportunity to enhance data-driven execution and help teams focus on key metrics within a consumer-facing environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML, NLP, and LLM models with a focus on reliability and scalability.
- Develop scalable models suitable for the company’s extensive data ecosystem.
- Integrate data science solutions with existing business processes.
- Mentor peers and junior team members while concurrently managing multiple projects.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate algorithmic recommendations into actionable business strategies.
- Establish process standards and best practices for machine learning in the retail sector.
- Engage with academic and industry partners to foster innovation and new ideas.
Qualifications
- PhD with more than 5 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with more than 6 years of experience in a quantitative discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience in AI/ML modeling and deep learning, particularly in computer vision.
- Proven track record of scientific publications or intellectual property generation.
- Experience in solving complex problems using vision models within a business context.
- Strong programming skills across the data science and ML engineering stack, including Python.
- Effective communication skills demonstrating a high degree of ownership and commitment.
- Experience in deploying data science models in production environments using Spark and Kubernetes.
