Lead advanced cyber defense initiatives as a Staff Cyber System Security Engineer, designing and implementing protective measures for critical infrastructure using network security, threat analysis, and automation with Python and Linux environments.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and integrate security architectures for high‑value mission‑critical systems.
- Conduct threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and risk analyses to identify and mitigate potential attack vectors.
- Lead incident response activities, including detection, containment, eradication, and post‑incident reporting.
- Develop and maintain automated security tooling and scripts, primarily using Python, to enhance monitoring and response capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to embed security controls throughout the system development lifecycle.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior security engineers and analysts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in network security, incident response, and risk assessment for complex, high‑availability environments.
- Proficiency in Python scripting and Linux system administration.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and modern threat intelligence sources.
- Security certifications such as CISSP, GICSP, or CEH are highly desirable.
