Sr Software Development Engineer, System and Embedded PCIe and Neuron Link - Amazon Web Services

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain low‑level software stacks (drivers, firmware, and runtime libraries) for high‑performance PCIe and Neuron Link interconnects.
• Collaborate with EC2 product teams, hardware architects, and manufacturing partners to define and validate system requirements and integration points.
• Develop performance‑critical code in C++ and Python for data path optimization, latency reduction, and throughput maximization.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex hardware‑software interactions on Linux‑based embedded platforms, using tools such as JTAG, logic analyzers, and kernel tracing.
• Contribute to architectural reviews, code quality initiatives, and documentation to ensure reliability of mission‑critical systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development, preferably with PCIe, high‑speed interconnects, or accelerator platforms.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, with solid understanding of Linux kernel internals and driver development.
• Hands‑on experience debugging hardware‑software integration issues on custom silicon or FPGA‑based prototypes.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally with hardware engineers, system architects, and manufacturing teams.
• Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
