About the role
As a Sr Principal/Principal Flight Test Engineer (Weapons), you will be responsible for the design and development of flight test systems for weapons systems. You will leverage your expertise in software development, systems engineering, and test planning to ensure the successful integration and testing of complex systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute test plans, and will be responsible for the development of test software and hardware. You will also be responsible for the analysis and interpretation of test data, and will provide recommendations for system improvements. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of systems engineering principles, software development, and test planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop flight test systems for weapons systems, including software and hardware components.
Develop and execute test plans, including test case development and test data analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration and testing of complex systems.
Develop and maintain test software and hardware, including Python and C++ programming languages.
Analyze and interpret test data, and provide recommendations for system improvements.
Requirements:
Master's degree in a STEM field, such as engineering or computer science.
10+ years of experience in flight test engineering, with a focus on weapons systems.
Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, software development, and test planning.
Experience with MATLAB and Simulink, as well as Model-Based Systems Engineering.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
