About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of database engineers, setting technical direction and ensuring high‑quality deliverables.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable SQL and NoSQL databases on AWS to support mission‑critical financial services.
- Drive performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning to meet stringent latency and throughput requirements.
- Collaborate with data, product, and engineering teams to define data models, schemas, and data governance policies.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring for database deployments and operations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of database engineering experience, with 5+ in a leadership role.
- Deep expertise in SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) technologies.
- Proven track record of designing high‑availability, scalable data architectures on AWS.
- Strong knowledge of performance tuning, query optimization, and data modeling best practices.
- Experience with DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Terraform) and automated monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana).
