Lead a high‑impact data science team to design and deploy advanced logistics models that optimize vehicle movements across a nationwide network, leveraging Python, SQL, machine learning, and cloud technologies.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of predictive and prescriptive models to optimize vehicle routing, scheduling, and third‑party logistics decisions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into data‑driven solutions and actionable insights.
- Oversee end‑to‑end model lifecycle: data ingestion, feature engineering, algorithm selection, validation, and deployment to production.
- Mentor and grow a team of data scientists, fostering a culture of experimentation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, influencing strategic logistics initiatives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data science or analytics, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and machine learning frameworks (scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Strong background in optimization techniques (linear programming, integer programming) and logistics operations.
- Experience deploying models at scale on AWS or similar cloud platforms.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
