Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a cross‑functional team of engineers delivering high‑performance web applications for Thunderbird.
- Define and own the technical roadmap, architecture, and coding standards for the web stack (JavaScript, React, Node.js).
- Drive performance optimization, accessibility, and security initiatives to meet privacy‑first product goals.
- Collaborate with product, design, and community contributors to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Implement and refine CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release processes to ensure rapid, reliable delivery.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience building large‑scale web applications with JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
- Proven track record managing and scaling engineering teams in a distributed, open‑source environment.
- Deep understanding of web performance, security, and accessibility best practices.
- Strong Agile leadership skills, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with modern CI/CD tools, containerization, and cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP).
