Software Engineer
Lead the New Glenn software organization, driving architecture, development, and operations of flight‑critical systems using C++, Python, and cloud‑based tooling in an Agile environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the technical roadmap for New Glenn software, ensuring safety, reliability, and performance of flight‑critical systems.
- Lead a multi‑disciplinary team of engineers, fostering Agile practices, continuous integration, and DevOps pipelines across simulation, ground‑support, and launch operations.
- Architect, develop, and maintain high‑performance C++ and Python codebases for guidance, navigation, control, and vehicle health monitoring.
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, and mission teams to integrate software with vehicle subsystems and validate through extensive testing and simulation.
- Drive adoption of cloud services (AWS) for data analytics, telemetry processing, and scalable test environments.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience in aerospace or high‑reliability domains, with a proven track record of leading large, distributed teams.
- Deep expertise in C++ and Python development for real‑time, safety‑critical applications.
- Strong background in systems engineering principles, requirements management, and verification & validation processes.
- Hands‑on experience implementing Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud‑based infrastructure (AWS).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional partners.
