Job Overview
The senior director of engineering for E‑Mobility is the global technology leader for TE Connectivity ’s E‑Mobility Value Driver (product line) and a key member of the AutoX leadership team. Together with the value driver leadership and the regional CTOs, the role ensures a profitable business growth of TE’s E‑Mobility sector based on AutoX’s mission to:

Job Requirements
Technology Roadmap : Define and own the global E‑Mobility technology and platform roadmap (Horizon 2&3) together with the stakeholders in the regions, product management and operations. Drive the Horizon 2/3 product development in a non-academic, agile style with business mindset, including external partnerships and advanced developments. Support technology due diligence for partnerships, ventures, and acquisitions
Engineering Productivity : Drive standardization, modular platforms, and reuse across regions. Define and implement state-of-the-art AI tools to increase engineering productivity by 30% during the next 5 years.
Engineering Excellence: Harmonize toolchains and methods across regions; set SLAs and capability catalogues; institutionalize D4 delivery approach (Discover, Design, Deliver, Decide).
Governance & Integration: run Tech Leadership Council for E-Mobility, Garage Board, and QBRs; ensure portfolio alignment and a clean intake and prioritization process. Act as the global technology integrator across APAC, EMIA, and Americas. Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure DFM, automation readiness, and scalability.
People & Culture: build a high-trust, startup-mindset team, rebalance global presence including China to match market needs and opportunities.
Required Functional Expertise
Hands‑on system‑level experience across E‑Mobility interconnect and protection technologies, including:
High‑Voltage Interconnects (HVIC)
HV connectors, terminals, busbars, insulation systems, creepage/clearance, thermal and safety requirements
Charging Inlets & Interfaces
AC/DC charging standards, mechanical and electrical interfaces, sealing, durability, system integration
Battery Protection
Electrical, mechanical, and thermal protection concepts; sensing; safety architectures; standards compliance
