Senior Control System Engineer / SRE responsible for designing, integrating, and maintaining the hardware‑software stack that drives quantum computers, ensuring high reliability and performance across development and production environments.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test embedded control software and firmware for quantum hardware platforms.
- Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot production and development environments using Linux, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with physicists, hardware engineers, and software teams to integrate new hardware modules and upgrade existing control systems.
- Develop automated testing frameworks to validate system stability, performance, and fault tolerance.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and provide on‑call support for system reliability and incident response.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in control systems, embedded software, or site reliability engineering.
- Proficiency in Python and C++ for low‑level hardware interaction and automation.
- Strong Linux systems administration skills, including kernel tuning and networking.
- Hands‑on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar).
- Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally in fast‑paced, research‑driven environments.
