About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze source databases to assess compatibility, estimate effort, and define migration strategy for SQL Server 2012‑2026.
- Execute migration projects using SQL Server Migration Assistant, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
- Monitor and resolve connectivity, permission, and performance issues during and after migration.
- Utilize SQL Server Profiler and SSMS to diagnose bottlenecks and apply performance‑tuning techniques.
- Document migration procedures, create run‑books, and provide knowledge transfer to support teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years focused on SQL Server administration.
- Hands‑on expertise with SSMA, SQL Server Profiler, and SSMS.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot secondary‑level database issues and optimize performance.
- Microsoft Certified: SQL Server Database Administrator (preferred).
- Strong analytical, communication, and project‑management skills.
